Too often, the return to civilian life can bring a cascade of challenges that can lead to homelessness for veterans. Causes of homelessness among veterans are similar to causes of homelessness among non-veterans: interrelated economic and personal factors and a shortage of affordable housing.
However, veterans experiencing homelessness are more likely to be unsheltered and to experience homelessness for longer periods of time.
